Insanity? Or Just a New Obsession? Signed RC's to Match Cello.

I've been slowly procuring some vintage cellos, including those with Hall of Fame rookies on top or top/bottom. As a companion to the collection, I've decided that for each HOF RC showing cello, I will make certain that I've got the associated HOF RC signed. I think this will be an interesting compliment to the cellos...

Here is installment #1 completed a 1959 12 card Cello with HOF RC's of Parker (front) and Taylor (back) and their signed RC's (the cello is currently at PSA for grading and encapsulation):

Great idea! As a 1975 collector, I try something similar by collecting both mini and full-sized cellos with same player cards on top. Good luck!

Sounds like a cool idea. What will you do about the ones already deceased?

I've been collecting HOF RC auto's for awhile, so I've already got a decent amount of them. I think it will be harder to find legitimate cellos than it will the signed cards...

Why would the REAL Jim Taylor sign a card that doesn't have him depicted on it? You'd think he'd only sign his '61 or later cards.

BTW - great collecting idea. Just my personal bias that I don't own the '59 or '60 Taylor because it isn't the HOFer on the card.

He usually notes "Error" on with the signature when he signs those two cards or signs them normally on the reverse. I see about 4 "Error" notations to every one without. However, I think he'll sign without the notation when requested and his "fee" is paid.

I'm attempting to collect photos of models and the real models. Your collection is probably larger than mine! image

If you maintain your focus on the "before" models, you'll probably have far greater success...

You say insanity like it's a bad thing.

Seriously, it's an awesome idea for display.
