There's a member here with the same name as the eBay seller (littletweed). Might be the same guy.

    Yes, that's my card.

Yes, it is a weak 9.

That is why I am selling it.

  • A weak 9? That's a weak 8. I am anxious to see what gets screwed up on my most recent submission. Let's hope the last sub was a fluke.

C'mon now, it's not that bad...maybe a pixel counter can calculate T/B centering. I wouldn't be surprised is it's pretty close to 60/40, actually.

  • Weak 9 because of the slant.

I would say it received a 9 because it meets PSA's grading criteria for a mint card. It is perhaps on the outer range of centering requirements and has a slant but in my mind it no doubt qualifies for the grade. Obviously, not all PSA 9s are the same. Some have perfect centering, some 70-30 both ways. Some have a slant, others don't. Some have sharp focus and bright, vivid coloring, others do not. Cards that are at the high end of PSA's grading attributes command a premium, others like this one will not sell for nearly as much. Personally, I am very fussy and like nicely centered, well focused cards with great coloring. I pay more for these 9s. This PSA 9 Murray will no doubt sell at some price but because its eye appeal is not great its value will probably be less than most PSA 9s.

it's close enough. surface and color, imagery, blah blah........all outstanding.

excellent example of what to look for AND what not if you have higher standards for MINT in your own collection.

I don't mind the centering for the grade , it is in the tolerance , but common , look at the corners. especially the back upper right and lower corners, no way it should be a 9. I usually skip most of these how is this card a blah blah blah as a witch hunt but in this case I agree this is a poor grade

  • The centering certainly is not bad enough that a qualifier would be warranted. And it looks to be a sharp card otherwise, without many of the usual print issues you see on a Murray RC.

This isn't the card I'd want if I were paying '9' money, but I don't think the grade is a travesty of justice or anything.

I agree with the last few posters in that it's not THAT bad of a 9. It's off-center but not horrible. I think it's a good buy for someone that wants to add a 9 to their collection. My Murray 9 RC isn't that much better

<< <i>.........In this case, if the centering is the only issue then this definitely falls within spec for a 9. >>

I vehemently disagree with your position on this hobby related issue.

I don't know the history behind why Nick keeps doing this, but I must say I hope it continues indefinitely.
