Ripping an 84 Donruss Baseball Box

Anyone with experience opening one of these boxes? I dont know how to open a pack. I kid. Seriously, I dont think I found one centered card and I am about 2/3rds through. Coalation also seems sporadic. Is this common for this set? I got most of the star cards. No Mattingly or Ripken sighting yet.

I opened a box a couple months back. Don't recall centering being too much of an issue. I did get two Mattingly's in the last 9 packs.

I opened a few racks. Bad centering, no star power.

I've opened a couple in the last two years. Didn't have any trouble with centering, but the break up was horrible. I have plenty of commons.

I broke a box about 3 months ago. Saved seven packs. The rest yielded mostly off center and poor register cards. Got one OC mattingly.
There is a really good thread in the registry forum from a few yrs back when a lot of guys were hunting the gem mint set. I read it and ignored the warnings. NYoU always think your box will be different. It usually isn't.

Finally got the scans up. I finished opened the box. No Mattingly. But then I also realized no Strawberry, Ron Darling or Danny Jackson either. Only disappointed to the extent I never pulled a Mattingly, so it would have been fun. But the star amount seemed to compensate. The centering, as mentioned, is all over the place and none are worth grading. So it looks like set building for me on this. Here are the scans:

Strange collation. was the box from a good source? almost sounds like a rebuild box

Well, I guess the source is debatable. I did buy a few boxes from BBCE, but this particular box was not. So its possible it was a rebuild. I picked this and a few other boxes from a seller off Craigslist at a good price. I have not ripped into any of the other boxes. I will have to see if there are similar patterns.

I have opened several and usually centering is a minor issue however allocation sucks.
