These have been discussed here before, but I didn't see this until today.

I guess they are marked as clad. (on the reverse)

  • You are reading it right. The silver-plated bars from World Treasures Mint are stamped with "In Clad We Trust" on the reverse side of the bar.

They've been around for some time now and as long as they are not listed in the silver bullion category, I have no problems. Buyers need to learn to read and if buying bullion, narrow their search to the individual bullion categories...gold, silver etc., and this stuff will not come up in their search.

At our last coin show locally, somebody apparently went and purchased quite a few of these and then sold them to one of the dealers at the show. A substantial quantity I herd. Of course unknowing too him he went and began selling them to the public. He had sold most of what he bought that sat. On sunday am, one of the persons who bought 5 of the bars brought it over for me to look at and we checked it out and found out it was one of these bogus bars. I told him to go back to the guy he bought it from and explain his findings. The dealer of course refunded his money and was shocked because he had been taken by somebody on sat. But not only that because he is a stand up dealer he was horrified that he had sold quite a few to the general public on sat. I have not talked with him since so I don't know how many more have come forward!!

these bars should not be allowed, they are very deceiving!!

Its like some Franklin Mint or TV products, where you may buy just for the heck of it, but not investment. But deceiving in presentation to those that don't understand. A cheap way to learn a lesson, if you only bought one or two. Least it doesn't say, "In Fed we Trust"

They state this a few lines down in the description. Its sort of funny....

"Silver is over $30+ an ounce! So, please realize this is not solid silver! Silver amounts are minimal and the amount is too minimal to measure. Thanks"

On Pawn Stars last night, they had the show where they mentioned, The Ole Man silver coin, and that they sell it for $60 bucks.
