NY Times Article on Collecting Piazza in Marlins Uniforms

This article gets to the heart of a lot of my idosyncracies about collecting: totally illogical fascination about certain players (Bobby Grich, Pedro Guerrero, Lonnie Smith, Carney Lansford) during a certain time (1981). Acquiring copies of those cards, especially via trades or unopened packs; I never bought individual cards from a card store when I was young; presents a quick, fleeting meaning of life fix and allows me to hold my childhood for a few seconds.
