George Anderson vs. Sparky Anderson

Did Sparky Anderson sign George earlier in his career and Sparky later in his career or did he only sign George when it was requested by the autograph hound?

Good question--apparently close friends always called him "George" and never "Sparky", right up until his death.

I believe he received the nickname Sparky around 1955. Not sure when he stopped using George when signing autographs.
