Can someone help me understand on the PSA submission

I have about 200 cards I would like to submit for grading I would like to submit for the $6 bulk submission. What I do not understand is where I see the declared value has to be less than $100. For example I have a Montana RC and 2 Jerry Rice RC that could grade out a 8,9, or possibly 10. Obviously the value will be affected by the grades. My thought would be to have the declared value of each card at $99, which would be about 19.8k in declared value for the lot. I doubt the lot as a whole is worth more than that. Am I looking at this wrong, do people who submit a couple hundred really go through and declare different values for different cards.

Thanks

hi, first the bulk rate goes up to $7 on jan 1 2013 so get it postmarked before then. on the declared value i think your ok unless you think they are psa 10 and have a real shot than psa might red flag it but i never had a problem before with those going lower to slide it in for a declared value. worst case they will put a hold on it and call you and you would pay the $17 a card plus return shipping back if there is a problem for the few cards.

The January CC special is also $6 a card with approx 45 bda turnaround.

You should estimate the value of your card based on its present state (raw) as you cannot guarantee it will grade 8 or higher, even
if you think the card is gem mint. If you really want to decalre a higher value, you'll have to use a service level other than bulk, but in the
case you're describing, I would not recommend it.

  • I submitted 2 Joe Montana RCs recently thinking they would be 7s or 8s. I put a declared value on them of $50 for each. One got a 7 and one got an 8 and they were shipped back no problem.
  • Thanks guys for the advice.
