Pretty up a Brazilian 2000 Reis

I have a friend with a necklace made from a 1928 Brazilian 2000 Reis.

The only thing I can find online about the coin is that it is 0.500 Fine silver. I would guess that it grades about VF, so its only value is in it's melt value of around $5+/-.

In any case, she would like to polish the coin to make it shine. The things she has done so far (including silver polish) has left the coin still looking old (perhaps the color of an old nickle).

Any suggestions on what could be used to polish this coinng up?

Low grade silver so would need coated with something to make it shine. Not recommended, but coins will still be made of silver and retain their value no matter what they look like. And it is a piece of jewelry.
