Hi All,
If this wasn't a Hong Kong based seller, I would not bring this to the forum.
Seller's feedback established over 9 years is 100% and has an assortment of lower and higher grade coins some slabs with details/grafiti or raw coins- LINK
This is the item slab
The Taler can be traced to the 2006 Goldberg's auction of the Hesselgesser collection - Lot 1895 - Link to auction
Auction images over Ebay.
From the toning patterns, marks and 7 O'clock obverse slight edge clip the coin seems identical. From researching various sites for slab forgeries and patterns nothing stands out. The seller when prompted indicated he knows that the fake market is abundant in the region yet he takes pride in 30 years of coin dealing and hates copies.
Thoughts?
