We had Christmas with our father tonight and BBCE present alert.

My father drove down from the Cincy area this year to have Christmas this weekend. Our twin little boys had a basketball game today so he came down here.

Anyway, my brother knew I am working on buying one wax box each of cards I busted as a kid. I busted 1984-1992. The plan is to display each box and eventually have them all.

He bought me a 1983 Topps Baseball wax box. Those were the expensive ones back in 1984 that would set you back .75 per pack. In 1984, I bought him five packs of 1983 Topps(back in 1984 when I was seven) with my own money and he pulled a Boggs and Sandberg in his five packs.

I thought it was really cool because BBCE shrinkwrapped it for me so I can display it.

I know keeping the boxes closed/sealed is what most people do, but for me flipping up and folding the box top to display them as they were on a store shelf back in the year they were sold is the only way to fully enjoy them on display.

How times have changed! I can see 30 years from now...."Back in 2013 a pack would set you back only $400." image

Great deal Nathan!!! I hope your boys played well and the team won.

BTW, how was the condition of the Boggs and Sandberg? Maybe you can get them graded for him now too.

The boys played well and we won. We finished the season 8-0.

I bought those five packs for him back in 1984. He sold his collection in 1989 so they are long gone.

This year he got silver dollars.
