Are the Olympic Clad Halves really worth this much?

I am doing an appraisal for a friend. They have a bunch of young collectors edition clad halves. I went on ebay to see the going prices and I can't believe how high they are. For example, the swimming and soccer clad unc halves are around $100 or more. Is this really the going retail pricing? I am amazed. Comments would be appreciated.

These prices are close to the bid prices, however, they sell for much less. You need to search actual sales, not what people want for these coins.

Agree with previous poster. It's a bit of a hassle finding "completed auctions" and it's not like eBay makes this eZee, but the information on completed auctions and a medium price is there, and will serve you better. But, remember to factor in about 20% juice/fees (operating costs), etc...

That oughta get you a relatively fair analysis of the data necessary for pricing/valuation. Whether for retail or for wholesale, there are "x factors" all over the board.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am now looking at the completed auctions listings but I am still amazed.

The 1995 and 1996 Olympic program was so large that folks lost interest in trying to buy them all. There were like 32 coins. Several coins from the program bring nice prices.
