These were some of the cards I posted the other day for opinions. All were whole grades. Overall satisfied. Thought the 63 Aaron and 71 Rose was going to bump. That was the only bummer. The 59 Aaron is stunning.

    Wow, congrats on the bumps.

My review submission with PSA just bumped yesterday, and I got a single bump out of a 25 card submission. <sigh>
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    Bobby,
Why do you think the 68 was not going to bump? It was about perfectly centered, strong corners and great color with outstanding print. The back presented as just about mint. The 59 Aaron is my favorite card in this sub...because it's a toughie.

This is exactly why it's BS that PSA charges full price for reviews. I have a large amount of pre-half grade cards that would require submission under the $35 or $65 price levels, but knowing that I could shell out close to a grand and get only one or two bumps is keeping my cards at home.

i have no doubt the OP puts a lot of thought and consideration into his choices for bumps.

his examples posted here over the years have been the kinds of cards we love to perceive as "strong for the grade".

we'd love to think that handfuls of our own cards are rather deserving until we really examine them and pick them apart.

I totally agree! It appears as though the OP does indeed have a good eye for strong cards in cases. I thought the 1968 wouldn't bump becuase the corners appeared weak - that could just be a scanning issue however, as the burlap doesn't translate well against a white background. I am totally with what the other person said about reviews being full price and only getting one. Sounds like a money losing proposition.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Thanks for the congrats. I made up my mind about 4 years ago that I was only going to buy strong for the grade and I have not wavered unless the price is just crazy great. In regard to the $35 reviews. I'm 1 for 3 and it was a red heart Mantle that went to an 8.5

I generally only send reviews in when there is some type of special as I too believe full price is not fair. Due to full pricing I am "extremely" selective.

Atta boy Mickey. We may be collecting brothers separated at birth, as I too prefer to spend my collecting dollars on the the best I can find for the grade. Unfortunately, this is expensive. I've got about a dozen pre-half grade beauties worthy of a review myself. I'm waiting to do them at a show. Including the 32 Ruth that just got "delisted" on eBay. Wowzers.

I recently renewed my Collector's Club membership. Does anybody know if I can send in reviews for my 6 freebies?

btw, I've got first hand experience of Mickey's excellent eye. I sold him a 67 Aaron PSA 8 on the BST that now resides in an 8.5 holder. More power to him.

Here is a link to the scans... I thought the 63 Aaron would go for sure.
