Selling 1806 Large Cent with counterstamp 'GABLE' (believed to have been used as identification among Copperhead members)



Ebay Link to coin from same 'group' (please see the black and white picture in this auction which shows the entire group from a 1989 Stacks catalog) Jeremy sold (via Ebay consignment) the Irwin piece for me a while back -- He's great!! quick plug: use JKCoins if you have coins you want to sell!! I would be using him to sell the 1806 but I thought I would offer it here on the BST first. The 1806 GABLE piece is much nicer in hand and, in my opinion, should sell for more. Also, if this sort of thing matters to you the Gable piece was pictured by itself in the October issue of The Numismatist (p.29) in an accompanying article on Copperhead tokens.
