The Blue Jays will be VERY interesting this year...

Finalized deal for Cy Young winner Dickey

SP RA Dickey (Cy Young Winner last year 20Wins, 230K's, 2.74ERA)
SP Mark Buehrle (basically averaged 14 wins a year for the past 12 years)
SP Josh Johnson (big upside still only 28, could easily hit 200k and 15W on a good team)
SP Rickey Romero (brutal last year but avg 14W and 165K's last 3 years)
SP Brandon Morrow (10-7 last year with 2.96ERA and 108Ks in 124INN)

C JP Arencibia (He's got power 18HR in 347AB last year, 23HR in 443AB in 2011)
1B Adam Lind (More power 20, 26,23,35HRS last 4 years)
2B Emilio Bonifacio (30SB in half a season last year, 40SB .296 in a full season 2011)
3B Brett Lawrie (I believe poised for his breakout, 11HR/13SB .274 last year, .325 27HR between minors and majors in 2011)
SS Jose Reyes (last 3 years avg .300, 36sbs, 175hits)
OF Colby Rasmus (hit 23HR last year, could see him do well in this lineup)
OF Melky Cabrera (probably has a lot to prove .346 avg last year, .305 2011)
OF Jose Batista (.280 last 3 years, 54,43, 27HR (in 300ab) past 3 years)
back up? OF Rajai Davis (avg of 40SB for last 4 years)
DH Edwin Encarnacion (42HR .280 last year... yes 42 bombs)

I may have to check the vegas line

I believe Macier Izturis is penciled in to be the starting 2B with Bonifacio serving as a super UTIL guy (if he isn't traded), but there should be a ton of HRs and SBs. K's, OBP, and the potential for 4 starters to hit .220 or below will be another story.

    .275
    .314
    .320
    .324
    .289
    .347
    .390* (Melky)
    .223
    .358
    .384

those would be the 2012 OBPs for the projected starters. Not that you can't win with that, Oakland did last year. It's just those types of lineups have difficulty in the post-season against good pitching with deep post-season bullpens.

This was a good trade for both clubs considering their needs and current priorities. Although I'm a Met fan, I'll be rooting for R.A. to have more good years as he is a class act.

According to the up-to-date Vegas odds, the Blue Jays are the favorite to win the World Series.

Boy, I hope the experts are right on this call!!

Also, has there ever been a team in history whose last year's number one starter (Romero) is next year's number five man starter? (R.A., Johnson, Buerle, Morrow, Romero).

    Boy it's quiet around here.

What are everyone's guesstimates on the Blue Jays record for 2013? I'll go with 94-68. While I think they 'should' win the AL East, I don't think they will advance to the WS...I'll stick with the Halos or Tigers.

I could live with that scenario.

Get their feet wet with playoff experience this coming year and then the following year go for the jugular and win the World Series.
