1978 FB Cello Partial Box - Help me understand

image

Ebay Auction

Ok, what am I missing here? We've got a box less than 1/2 full (11 packs) that sells for $445.05. Looking at the packs, one has a HOF Rookie card on top (Fred Dean) - that should bring a premium and a couple minor HOFers on the back of a couple packs (Eller and Blount). BBCE typically sells 1978 Topps Cello Packs for $20 each and I wouldn't be surprised to find an Eller or a Blount on the back of one of the $20 packs they sell. Am I missing something? Is that Dean pack really something special?

It looks like back in February Steve had a couple full 78 FB Cello boxes that we crushed in a group break. He was selling the entire 24 pack box for $475 (before our discount). Maybe there were just two bidders out there that REALLY wanted that "Bob Johnson on Top" pack.

Well, we know it is not shilling because that only happens in auction houses. On eBay, the visibility of the bidders (1************Z) makes it very clear who they are and thus shilling a near impossibility. So, the economy must be back on. Fiscal cliff, ha.
