US mint gold prices probably dropping this Wed 12/19

US mint gold prices have held steady for the last 8 weeks, but will probably be dropping this week.

So far this past 3 daily sessions, it's averaging about $1695, which drops it down to the next lower pricing tier, as long as the closing price for Tues & Wed is below $1706, the average will stay below $1699, which would result in a US Mint price drop of $50 per ounce.

So I would suggest you hold off any US Mint gold purchases until Wednesday afternoon.

From last week:
7 days ending 12/12/12:

Gold avg: $1706.90 (down $5.65); Criteria #1 (no change); AGE (proof) $1985

  • and with today's London PM closing of $1694, a price decrease is all but certain. It would have to close above $1720 for prices not to change.
