Football suggestions for my nephew?

I've been buying my nephew a lot of 80's bb wax to see if he would take to hobby. To my pleasant surprise, last night he took me through his well organized binder of 200 or so 84 topps that I had given him via the recent BBCE breaks.

He then let me know that he wants to get into football cards as this is his favorite sport now ( he plays football and baseball and is a madden football vid game fan).

Question: what's a good modern football pack I can start him on. I'd want to spend about 75-100 on a box and then give him the right supplies as he (we ) break the packs?

Any suggestions are welcome.

I think Playoff contenders is nice, lots of base, rookies, short prints worth a good buck or two, and 4-5 autographs a box of rookies and legends is hard to beat

Don't see any hobby boxes on eBay. When did they come out?

Agreed....Get him some 2012 Topps Chrome and he will be hooked. What a year to start out as a collector....!!! More star rookies out there than I think there ever has been in one year.

2012 is a great year - lots of great rookies, especially a great rookie quarterback crop.
