PSA graded Pack Collectors

How much of an issue is it in the graded pack market to have a PSA 9 graded wax pack develop rips in it due to gum ?

Imagine if a high grade card got damaged in the holder. I guess packs are getting damaged due to the gum. Does this effect the market one iota ?

I would say it has a major effect. I personally would not consider buying a slabbed pack with a tear in it.

Welkl, when packs like that have come up for auction, they will sell at a discounted price, but still higher than what the pack would normally
sell at if it were regraded (which would typically be PSA 6 or 7) due to the registry. Same for graded cards--not everyone buys the card
    and not the holder..

Does PSA have a general policy of guaranteeing their grade if the gum rips the pack post slabbing? >>

I believe they do as I have bought packs from Fritsch that were reslabbed post-gum tears at a lower grade/price.

They had a bunch of PSA 5 1973 5th series wax packs that were previously graded PSA 8 and 9. I'm not
sure, but I would assume that PSA would reimburse them for the book value difference in that case.
