Rob Parker suspended from ESPN First Take

I thought there was no way, no how ESPN would take action but they suspended him this morning.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I watch First Take every day and somehow missed that. What an idiot.

EDIT: If anyone has a clip showing Stephen A Smith's full response I would love to see it.

I have always liked Parker because he tells it the way he sees it. And when he was in Detroit, that was a nice change as the reporters of the pro teams in Detroit have done nothing but kiss up to team management for decades.
  • This has been big news on the DC radio airwaves the past two days.

    So RG3 is...

    Intelligent
    College educated
an excellent speaker ("He speaks so well!)"
    Hard-working
    A leader

If Rob Jackson's definition of black isn't any of those things, I think his definition is doing the black community a disservice.

With those comments, Rob Parker sounds like a total racist.

RG3 is not a "team" playa

Just got back & was listening to the radio where they were taking calls on Parker & ESPN. The host brought up the question for his audience: What would have ESPN done to the person who made these comments had he been caucasion?

This shouldn't surprise any Metro-Detroiters on this board. When you don't have talent, you need a schtick. Wob survived for years in Detroit on Schtick, but was kept because he caused controversy. I assume ESPN will keep him because this will just bring in more viewers and publicity.

What Rob Parker said is 100% racist garbage and has no place in the public discourse. The vitriol that Parker spewed is something that I imagine you'd hear at a New Black Panthers rally, but it has no place on television. If Parker has any friends that don't share his racist views, they should sit him down and have a long conversation. "He's not down with the cause".... what a retard..
