Are reviews going through a stringent auth. process?

I think knowing that there are a lot of bad cards in good holders they are totally rechecking the authentication process??? If they see an 8 that they think is trimmed I'm thinking you just get it back in an 8. What I'm getting at is this.............reviews seem to be taking the longest in all service levels. If they are just looking and grading why is it taking sooooooo long? I think they are spending alot of time determining if the card has been "touched". Yes, these are all theories; but I'm feeling close on this one.
