What I did:
1. filed police report
2. Contacted NCIC
3. Went to all local coin and pawn shops (gave them lists of stolen coins/cert #'s
4. Reported theft with serial #'s of certified coins to this site
5. Within 3 days of alerting members on this site, the members here alerted me they had recovered my coins.

I feel for you....I hate when things like this happen to nice folks.
The timing is way too suspect.....
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Yep , somebody knew. Here's hoping that's realised.
Something is definitely fishy. Too much of a coincidence.
I hope the baztard is caught and hung.

Is there a list of cert numbers you can reference? Registry?

Seems like someone knew you were going to this coin show and the whole situation seems premeditated. I hope you have you coins insured because you have some of the best Morgans on the market! Which would make it hard for the thief to sell them because most are uniquely toned.
Very very sorry to here this. I would loose it if this happened to me, and my collection is a tiny percent compared to yours sir.
Let's hope they find the SOB's who did this asap. If the thief is smart I'm sure he will put the coins away until this dies down and then try to sell privately or crack the coins out and resubmit or sell raw... lets hope it doesn't go this far.
Every year at this time is when the snakes come out of the grass... its a shame really. I wish you the best of luck
i hate to say this, but it's someone you know. my dad (rip) used to be police for 26 years. he told me almost always when someone is a victim of a robbery at their home, it's done by someone that knows them.
case in point...my wife's parents were victims once...by someone in their own family.
i hope you recover your coins.
This just makes me sick. I can't stand people who steal!
Again best of luck to you.
When my coins were stloen at my house last year, they were stolen by my sons ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend. The ex-girlfriend had stayed with us for 6 months, while my son was in Afghanastan.
OMG, I am so sorry for your loss. I have looked at all your posts
with your newps and really enjoyed looking over the images you
had BluCCphotos do for you.
I have a hollow feeling in the pit of my stomach... I'd be devastated
as well. I only have a few low value things on display at home - and
three SDB's packed to overflowing !
If you suspect your EX's new boyfriend, have the police questioned him
and her ? Again, my heart goes out to you !
Best of luck in retrieving the coins back !

Sounds like you have a good lead.
We are all praying you get your coins back and the perps are thrown in the slammer for a good long time.

That really stinks, no matter how angry you get do not attempt to recover on your own, make sure the police are involved. I took matters into my own hands once and I ended up being the one in cuffs.

I agree it sounds like an inside job.
But the encouraging news is you have everything documented, you have all of us on the lookout and it sounds like you have a very good idea of the culprits.
