Looking to expand my Topps unopened pack run

This isn't a high priority part of my collection, but it is something that I am interested in expanding. As of now I have unopened Topps wax packs from 2012 down to 1985. This includes all series and traded/updates.

I recently bought a lot of 5 1984 Topps packs from a reliable seller from Ebay, but I think the packs are a little suspect. I opened 4 of them and the only even semi star I got was Tom Seaver

Right now, my focus will be to get down to my birth year of 1975.

What I am looking for from this board is to purchase any needed packs from an honest person that can tell me that your pack(s) have been in your possession since the year of its origin or that you purchased from BBCE. I will also be in touch with BBCE myself.

Shane ... since you are not talking about expensive packs (75 thru 84) you could probably buy the entire run from a trusted board member. GOOD LUCK.

BTW ... Tom Seaver ... who, during a 20-year career, compiled 311 wins, 3,640 strikeouts, 61 shutouts and a 2.86 earned run average and in 1992 was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the highest percentage ever recorded (98.84%), is a SEMI-STAR? LOL

Doug, I know that Seaver was one of the greatest. I may have worded it wrong. The best card I got was Seaver. The next best card wasnt even a semi star card. The rest of the cards were all commons.

Shane ... just bustin your chops. I know exactly what you meant. You were telling us you did not get any of the cards that were, at one time, valuable.

BTW ... with only 4 packs I don't think that would indicate that they were resealed. Now if you told us Seaver was the best you got after opening a FULL BOX ... that would be a different story.

Yes, I realize the possibility of them being legit. It just makes me wonder about it.

Just got off of the phone with Steve at BBCE. I just purchased a run of Topps wax packs from 1980 to 1991 for $32. I went ahead and replaced those that I had so that I would know that the have not been resealed. In 1992 Topps went with a plastic wrapper so I am not concerned about resealing in 1992 on up.

Now I just need to work down to 1975. Steve has everything except 1979. I will probably get them from him eventually unless someone here has them a little cheaper and I trust the source.
