Advice needed - weird request after the sale.

This person was the winning bidder in one of my auctions. Promptly paid, but then sent me this message. I have no clue how to ever respond to this....how would you handle it?
I just now found that I have this card in my inventory in better grade, and did not know I had the card when bidding. I would like to
ask if any of your Jim Brown listings could be purchased in trade,r
if you have other like cards in your inventory that I could substitute
for this purchase. I feel silly and disorganized admitting the oversight, but hoe we can find an agreeable substitute. Thanks for
your consideration.
Any advicce?

What is the dollar amount we are talking about here and is the buyer an established eBayer?
My guess is they get you to send something else, then claim SNAD through PayPal which would be legit at that point then they send you back an empty box or something assine.
Sounds like a dangerous buyer to deal with.
<< <i>I'd try to work a deal with him and hope he becomes a return bidder (or maybe use him to shill you listings
Be careful , the league of Safety Bidders United may have headquarters in more states than you realize .---- Sonny
PS--- Larry , we had a wonderful Thanksgiving at our home this year . Thank you for your service.

$35 card and the buyer has over 2,000 feedbacks.

Respond with overwhelming kindness and positive tone and let him know there's no need to bother with a substitute if he doesn't want the card. Go through Ebay's cancel sale option and refund his money in full and try to get back the fees. When the dust settles, put him on your BBL if he shows even the slightest hint of being a scammer.
<< <i>You gonna get scammed if you send something different.

If he wants to pull a scam, he could just claim that he received a 1988 Topps checklist, no matter what card he actually received.
Sounds like he could have just made an honest mistake, or he could be a scammer of some kind.

At $35 and with 2k feedback, I'd send him a substitute card and wouldn't even worry about it. If you are worried, just tell him you will just cancel the transaction.
Ask him what hes interested in and if he wants something of higher value, then just add $35 on to his credit and let him pay up the rest before releasing any card to him.

Seriously though, I would have him pull the trigger on something else before you cancel the first sale.

Wouldn't he need to show his belly button first?
