Minor Ebay rant

I bought some Christmas gifts ( graded cards ) for some of the specialty collectors here on the board . Believe me , NOTHING great , but something others might really like . Seller , who post here often , said they would combine shipping . I asked 3 times to please combine the shipping , as per the Ebay listing . They kept sending me back separate invoices , 3 times . I paid it . They shipped in one package . We are not talking a lot of money here ; its just the principle of honoring what you state in your shipping . This is no little seller either .

Unless you feel you tried your best which it does. 3 negs is hard. But if he was trying to squeeze 2.00 out of ya and knew he was. Maybe a neutral I guess. He might just be busy like you said. But that does seem rude.

  • I think I misunderstood the "Do I nuke them ?" question. Based on the other responses, it sounds like you may have been asking if you should leave negative feedback. If so, I'm not sure.

I interpreted "Do I nuke them ?" as you asking if you should out the board member. And I would enjoy that.

Thanks so far for the replies . Nuke = negs . I have only left 4 negs in 7 years so its not in my nature as a first response.

You say you combine , you refuse to combine . They have over 4,000 feedback . They know what they are doing or not doing .

I normally save my wrath for turds . I wouldn't exactly call this guy a turd . Mostly just annoyed .----- Sonny

I'd give him one chance to refund some of the shipping fees, and then...

I won a 1971 Topps Johnny Callison PSA 8 for a great price - about $22. I gave positive feedback and left 19 out of 20 stars to the seller. I am now blocked. Empathy is my new thing and I am guessing he thought, "You fat ingrate. You get a great card at a bargain and receive it within 12 days and I get to see my shipping time go from 4.9 to 4.8? See ya"

Why he assumed I am fat, I do not know.

I would have liked to buy more from him and have learned my lesson on feedback. Don't get me wrong, I would leave a neg if he was a complete turkey tit - which I have done maybe twice on my tenure here. But I agree with the others that should be the main factor on whether to neg.

Oh, and if you are reading this and blocked me after selling me a 71 Topps Callison PSA 8, I am sorry.

About 3 or 4 years ago I bought some 66-Topps baseball from a NY seller . The cards arrived , I believe 18 days later . There might have been numerous reason why it took 18 days ( didn't actually have possession at time of sale ? ). Anyway I left positive feedback but also notes about how long it took . I loved the cards , but was blocked from that point forward . He still sells cards I'd love to buy but I don't have or need to deal with him anymore . Crappy service is crappy service .----- Sonny

I'm not done with you, either. I'm just getting started.

I just drank a bunch of wine for the 1st time since my Cancer treatment. Tastes good. I might go look at some BUY IT NOWS on the bay. I think I'll start my searches with Ruth, Cobb...then Mantle. Wish me luck. I took tomorrow off.

And, don't buy if you've been drinking!!!! image

ps, best of luck with that cancer thing. My son just had surgery this past Thursday for testicular cancer.

    Bruce,
I had the same cancer as your son. Mine also spread to my abdomen. Had 2 major surgeries. Am doing well now. //////////////I seem to make good purchases when I drink. I bought an upper deck Griffey rookie in PSA 8 for $299. It looks high end.image

The seller made good on the extra postage . He claimed that he had sent me an adjusted invoice and was confused when I paid for extra postage . I don't know ; maybe a like paying excessive postage and never realized it . Who knew ????

None the less , nukes are back in the silos , safe for another day .---- Sonny

If a seller blocks an ID can't the buyer create a new ID and purchase from the seller with the new ID?

Yes, I believe so, since blocking just blocks the ID, not the real-life person. But, if the seller notices after the fact that the same person is now using a new ID, then new problems may arise.
