Cherrypicked a Rare Blacksmith off a Canadian dealers website, Wood 17!

Nice when a pro slips up a litte and you happen to be the one to catch if. The rarest variety of the first series is Wood 17. It's a mule using the 16 reverse and the 18 obverse.about 30 are known. The easiest way to see the difference on this well worn ( and purposely lightly struck) is the difference in how the ribbon and ribbon knot relates to the head. These were two seperate punches... The 18 obverse has this feature evenly struck and distinctly apart from the neck. The 16 obverse has these features touching with the knot deeply struck. The 18 has a hooked nose while the 16 has a straight angled nose bottom. So......Put these dies together and you have the very rare mule Wood 17.....here are Charleton 2nd edition plates for the 16 then the 17, ]
. Here's the 18 obverse note the ribbon
and here's my Wood 16 tan and NewP wood 17 (yay) dark coin note ribbon matches 18
now here are the reverses, common in every aspect both 16.
<>>>>>>>>>>>So with all that HooDoo it seems I got a rare piece! Of course no ones getting rich here but this about a $250 coin now instead of the $60 I paid, he had it lisallure a different common varietyQuite an esoteric little Cherrypicked. Eh?
