I certainly don't see anything in that scan that would disqualify that card from getting a 10.

It looked like it had a tilt at first glance but I really dont see much wrong with it and would consider it a high end 9 and would keep it as such after a review.
I looked through many of that sellers other cards and somehow the borders and corners are 100% white and sharp all the way around on every card they are selling - despite extremely close-up scans. I am not sure how any card can look like that close up. Take a look at the recent PSA 9 1976 Brett they had up and the 1974 PSA 8 Gervin and tell me what you think.
It is important to remember that post-scan editing can create bold, vivid, and sharper images than what may be reality. A little boost of the saturation and a sharpening of the imaging can be misleading.

Forget l-r, am I the only one seeing that the centering is off t-b?
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
That card should not sell for more than $500, close to 450 of them in circulation. Bird was a great one but the 86 fleer with 46 psa 10, should sell for a signficant premium to the 80 psa 9 rookie.

450 for a PSA 9 is not much.
And you talk about the card as if it's just Bird. The cool and underappreciated thing about it is that it's Bird/Magic RC together on one card

What do yall think of the value on the unopened from this year then? The Bird/Johnson 9s are going for over a grand now, and a PSA 10 is worth more than a Jordan Fleer PSA 10. But the packs just go for 35-50 each. You also get the same number of Bird/Johnson Rookies as you do with a Jordan Fleer 1986 Rookie. You get about 3 per box. a 1980-81 Topps Box vs a 1986-87 Fleer box seems way more affordable and worth it? Thoughts? Its a 10 to 1 on price 1986 Fleer to 1980 Topps.

With the 80-81, the Bird/Johnson rookie is all there really is to find, as where the 86-87 Fleer has many nice rookies. I think that's the main difference.
I know that it has other rookies in the 1986 but do you think its a good value at 1 to 10x the price for a 1980 box. Seems low with the bird johnson picking up value latley. And it has a comparable key card worth more than the Best card in the 1986 Fleer Set Jordan PSA 10. The Bird Johnson is selling for more. So I think that could pick up a little slack for not having as many rookies.
Yeah thats what Im thinking. And you still have the rest of the cards from the box. Also you have a chance to pull 10s of commons and other bird, johnson rookies alone. Seems like a low price that has an upside in the wax area with 2 big rookies involved. I heard that the year this product came out you couldnt give it away. But soon enough the boxes went from 5.00 per box to 100 almost over night I heard. Back in the day. Its a neat issue and Im glad the Bird/johnson is starting to get the love it deserves. Might be the media with M. Johnson owning the Dodgers now so It might be a short up trend but I do feel this set is undervalued at this time.

I know that they enhance the scans. He bought a card in an auction from a local dealer I know, then re-sold the card in his auction. The color was now more saturated and print fleck was removed. He also got about $100 more in his sale. I saw both scans side by side and it was night and day.

<< <i>PS ... nice shill bidding by the guy with zero feedback
Potentially dos shillers. Odds of both being legit are somewhere between slim and none, and Slim was seen hightailing it out of town...
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

I do ... L/R centering is 18/12 or 60/40. >>
Can't a card be 60/40 and still get a 10?
That is one of the most beautiful Bird/Magics I've ever seen...I think the buyer has a shot at a 10

Those corners look a little to perfect.
Always looking for Vintage Yankees & NASCAR

The set has always been under the radar. How many 9's would you pull out of a case that looked like that? I bet not many.
