Pop Quiz (You have $3000 to spend - What do you buy?)

I got this idea from the old Becketts - I remember they use to do this so I thought this could be fun for everyone to participate regardless of what sport you collect.

Heres how this works.

You have only $3,000 to spend.

List graded cards you would purchase until the whole $3000 is gone. YOU CANNOT GO OVER.
Next to your card, write a real value that the card sells for so everyone can see. If you stop under is fine but you CANT go over the amount.

Heres the catch - You HAVE to purchase anywhere from 5-15 cards.

The price of 1 card HAS to have a minimum value of $50 and NO HIGHER THAN $1500. You just cant say I want a $2800 card and now 4 $50 cards. Try to make this fun.

Ill start (If you want, copy and paste my list below (numbers 1-15) and then fill the slots with your picks and prices next to it.

Here I go:

1 - 1957 Ted Williams PSA 7 ($400)
2 - 1963 Roger Maris PSA 8 ($250)
3 - 1966 Sandy Koufax PSA 8 ($290)
4 - 1993 Derek Jeter SP PSA 9 ($1200)
5 - 1964 Mickey Mantle PSA 8 ($750)
6 - 1961 Don Drysdale PSA 8 ($70)

Total Value for mine stops at $2960

    2. 1955 Topps #123 Sandy Koufax PSA 6 ($600)

THE MICK was my idol growing up ... and the one I enjoy collecting. I would look for the following cards with good centering ... I will give some on the corners and a light spider crease would be just fine.

    1959 Topps MANTLE - PSA 6 - $400.00
    1958 Topps MANTLE - PSA 6 - $400.00
    1957 Topps MANTLE - PSA 6 - $475.00
    1956 Topps Mantle - White Back - PSA 5 - $575.00
    1955 Bowman MANTLE - PSA 6 - $500.00
    1953 Topps MANTLE - PSA 3.5 - $650.00

    A WELL SPENT THREE GRAND.
