Is this worthy of an 8?

I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

  • Its not the most attractive 8 nor would it be my pick if I were getting that card in an 8, but ...its an 8.

Edit: Thats a great card btw (not THAT one pictured though). I was looking at them about 2 months ago, also in PSA 8's. The nice looking/centered ones sure go for a hefty premium. I would love to own a really nice looking 8.

Yeah the front is pretty weak. If the centering on the back meets PSA 8 standards, then I have several miscuts I need to send in. We should be able to use that as an example, whenever we get an o/c qualifier.

Love the corners, and always loved the color on this card. Despite all of that, this is a terrible 8...I personally would not buy this one.

That card raw is like $50 tops. Not graded properly at all. If the cards I sent in are graded with those standards.....I'm getting some monster poppage.

I guess I'm just not as serious a collector as most of you, I think it's a nice card. It looks like it has a slight tilt to it but just like cards that are oc it doesn't bother me THAT much. It's not super high end but I think it's a nice card!

I could not be so lucky to get an 8 on a card I would submit like that.

  • Jakt,I'm curious, if the card wasn't graded you have the same opinion of it? Is it just because it's an 8 that you like it so much?

I have a card that I am thinking of having graded. It has great centering and sharp corners but it may have a print defect. I'm wondering if it would have more appeal as a raw card or being graded as a PSA 8 PD?

I am actually not a fan of the card in the auction. It is more upsetting that this got the grade it did.

This will probably sell for a nice penny since people tend to pay for the grade.
