Look at it this way,You will haVE first place all to yourself..
    J.R.
    Needs'
    1972 Football-9's high#'s
    1965 Football-8's
    1958 Topps FB-7-8
  • nah man, MTWCARDS had it on his 'my graded sets' thing and I though it was funny.
  • Since this is about all time defense. Here is mine

    FS Ronnie Lott
    SS Troy Polamalu
    CB Deion Sanders
    CB Rod Woodson

    LB Mike Singletary
    LB Dick Butkus
    LB Junior Seau

    DL Deacon Jones
    DL Howie Long
    DL John Randle
    DL Reggie White

I know I'll get sh*t for this but a player I feel could still possibly get there is NDamkung Suh, although he's considered a dirty player, I'm hoping he does something on and off the field to change that in the future. I watched him play and he's such a dominant force. He's constantly double teamed and if the Lions could just get an edge rusher to help him out, watch out. I'll likely pick a few backups and I may change my team to reflect only players I got to watch but for now, this is mine.

    Singletary over Ray Lewis?
    I collect Cal Ripken cards, T206, E95, E210, R319.
  • Yes,I'm sure Ray Lewis watched and learned from Singletary while growing up. The linebackers I have on my team are the main reason why the QB slide rule exists. image

Lawrence Taylor and Derrick Thomas would be on my backup list. They both belong on the front four which is why I considered having only players I got to watch. I believe adding Deacon Jones is a tribute to the sack masters of today's game.

I couldn't agree more with the OP. I've always thought it was a joke when people have sets like this. Others I think are dumb are:

    500 Home Run Club
    3000th Hit Club
    3000th Strikeouts Club
    1951-Present MVPs

lol @ Suh, the commentaters love him.....watching one of the highlight shows last night, Lions vs. Colts and they showed him chasing a ballcarrier out of bounds.....sportsdweeb shouts: "Hope you're wearin' a cup!!"

Gotta have Mel Blount in there. They don't call it the 'Mel Blount rule' for nothing. He changed the game forever. I'd also argue Jack Lambert should be in there.

Don't see how you could have an All-Time Defensive Team without Ray Lewis.

Nice list but if you asked 100 experts Howie Long would be lucky to make the list one time.

Great players all. I think Lee Roy Selmon deserves mentioning. If you polled his peers, they would very likely nominate him.
