The 18 days is working days it does not include weekends, Thanksgiving or the Day after Thanksgiving. If it has been there for 30 working days I'd call customer service and see if there is a problem or a receive hold on the order and they are waiting for you to cantact them to resolve the issue.
They announced a big price increase a few weeks ago, effective January 1, so of course they were going to get a big spike of submissions and turn-around times would suffer. Nothing to do but roll with it and be happy you're not paying the new prices.

I have always found a good rule of thumb to be a month after they arrive at PCGS. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Where you fall in terms of show calendars also has an effect on turn around times. My free submission arrived on November 28th and I expect that sometime after Christmas they will be graded and I will get them just before the New Year.
The question of everyone is, How often do you go online to check your submissions?
To answer my own question, I tend to look once a day in the evening as curiosity tends to get the better of me.
Retired United States Mint guy, now working on an Everyman Type Set.
I laugh at your puny submission times. On the currency side I have a bulk (26 note) order that is 90 business days (not factoring holidays or shows) and counting.
And of course it will, at least briefly, eat at me as to whether or not I should have ever requested those two status updates when I finally see the grades.
I love how the good "its just an estimate" is already being used. I it is a true estimate, there should be an equal percentage of submissions that are returned faster than the estimate. I find it unlikely that is the case.
I anticipate some member will explain their anomalous story how they received theirs quicker than the so-call estimate but remember it should be a 1:1 proportion.
We're noticing faster turnaround on Economy, but I think it depends upon the submission. If you have complicated coins on the form, they take longer. A economy submission of generic Morgans will get graded much quicker.
I once had a Standard Service order (no vams) take 42 business days (nearly 2 calendar months) to complete even though their website said 15 day turnaround (I think)
So if you get your coins back within 2 months you are doing pretty good
I would say something around or a bit over 1 calendar month for a turnaround is pretty typical
So if your coins checked in on Nov 20th ... dont even START checking the status website until Dec 20th And they will likely finish around Dec 27th.
If you requested TrueView photos it adds about a week I think.
Holidays, Coin Shows, Vacation schedules all impact the turnaround.
Of course you can always pay for the very fast Express Service, but that's pretty expensive.
If you don't get grades tommorrow, do you really want to get grades before January 3? With all the holiday parties the next two weeks your grades could look like this:

11 business days have passed on my 6coin modern crap express submission for SP with FS... that's 17 calendar days.
To make it worse a 4 coin order received the day before that one was done in 3 days
Thank you for therapy tuesday.
Weren't you told to submit your coins to TMZ ??
"When I asked for a tour, DW said call TMZ"
after Charmy got a tour of the PCGS facility.
