We need someone to buy one and see how it works on coins.

    .
    look deeper

on the surface i was nearly sold

only uses AAA batteries that others claim get used up quickly, difficult coordination for shutter release/zoom, not really 500x - taking others words for these things

neat small tripod with flex legs is a nice pickup for $5

unless it goes to 500x and can run while connected to pc, this is a pass for me, especially for $90 but maybe you have legitimate creative uses for it

if it goes to 500x and can run while connected to pc and offered rechargeable external/internal batteries, I'd be willing to go to $110-120, but now we are getting into just buying a low end camera with good macro function.

my overall recommendation. learn to image stack and get better at your photography and buy a much cheaper digi-scope that goes to 200x, but prefer 300x under $75.

The cons don't sound good. Need a steady mount, but no tripod mount?

    Cons:
    Difficult to focus (2) , 500x is useless (1) , Capture button location (1) , Great toy (1) , Hard to press shutter (1) , Low megapixels (1) , Misleading claims (1) , MUST BE WELL BRACED (1) , No tripod mount (1) , Not waterproof (1) , Over-priced (1) , Unstable (1) , Very hard to snap a photo (1)

I don't see a mount for a tripod.....I know without a tripod my microscope camera would be just about useless for taking photos

a quicker way imo is to use a program called snip or something else that is similar. i guess someone could even use the PrtScn/SysRq then ctrl+v in paint or another image editing program, but it is simply a matter of preference.

scope in the left hand and mouse in the right. although i have used the stand for zipping through large quantities.

if it helps i've taken thousands of images from my digi-scope over the past few years for dozens of coin series.
