Card PSA has graded the most?

Does anyone know what card PSA has graded the most? I'm guessing the 89 Upper Deck Griffey. How about just for football? Is there any list of the cards they've graded most often?

Thanks!!

Yes, I believe it's '89 UD Griffey. Make sense since UD printed them for years and years! image
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Wow, 62000 graded of a nearly worthless card - costing submitters at least $360,000 or so in total fees.

And I'm the only person ever to submit a Tim McGraw card to PSA.

    Amazing. image

I thought this question sounded familiar. Back in May of this year, I took a quick stroll through the POP reports to see which card had the most PSA 10's. I also listed the number of total cards graded. Here are the results (keep in mind the totals are from May 2012):

Checking on a couple of key cards in the Pop report:

    1985 Topps
    1. Mark McGwire – 237 PSA 10 (47,438 total graded)

    1986 Topps Traded
    1. Barry Bonds – 3238 PSA 10 (42,904 total graded)

    1987 Donruss
    1. Greg Maddux – 1325 PSA 10 (26,173 total graded)
    2. Mark McGwire – 1040 PSA 10 (21,580 total graded)
    3. Barry Bonds – 954 PSA 10 (22,419 total graded)

    1987 Fleer
    1. Barry Bonds – 899 PSA 10 (24,264 total graded)

    1987 Topps
    1. Barry Bonds – 894 PSA 10 (11,267 total graded)
    2. Mark McGwire – 721 PSA 10 (8,822 total graded)

    1989 Upper Deck
    1. Ken Griffey Jr. – 1752 PSA 10 (55,5613 total graded)

    And, the big winner....

    1989 Topps Traded
    1. Ken Griffey Jr. – 8264 PSA 10 (61,898, total graded)

We look at this and say "WTF" today, but 12 years ago, these cards were expensive.

Didn't the 89 UD Griffey in PSA 10 get 4 figures back in the day?

People see an instant pay-day and the pops rise dramatically.

In 2000 a Griffey PSA 10 was selling for $3,000 for a little while.

The 1985 Topps Tiffany McGwire was $7,500+ with his regular Topps card pulling in over $750+.

That's around the time I originally submitted the card for grading. I had pulled the best example of about 50 Griffey's a show dealer had on display and submitted it. It came back an 8. I always thought the card was grossly undergraded as it should have been an easy 9. Then a few years ago, I cracked it and resubbed it and it came back a 10. Goes to show you that market value does impact how strict a card is graded. I think that's the only card I ever had bump two full grades.

Those cards are a bunch of carp in my opinion. Grossly overproduced.

For football I'd go with 84T Marino and Elway, and 89 Score Barry Sanders. Those are all very plentiful.
