1981 Gradeing opinions for these 3 low pops Added Frank Pastore Added a PSA 10 with a tilt

Mickey Klutts & John Ellis I'm sending in over 100 cards in Dec if they give a good special
The Mickey Klutts has a pop of 2 and the John Ellis has a pop of 1 Mickey Klutts has a pop of 2-9's no 10's and Ellis has 1-9 & 1-10
Frank Pastore POP of 3-9's no 10's

I added a PSA 10 with a slight tilt just curious how much do they allow for a card that has a slight tilt

I dont see any 10's there.
couple 8's and a couple 9's due to centering / spots

Sorry but the lower left card has the best shot at a 9......maybe. I would not grade any of the 4. Best of luck if you do though.

Lower left is my pick too for the best card here.

    Good luck.
  • I would definitely grade them for your set since they are tough to find. I think you would get at least 8s on all four with possible 9s on the upper right and lower left.

Great to see you chugging along on this underrated set!

no psa 10's there and i dont think 9's either, print spots, tilts, centering kill those but its worth a shot for sure even if you get a psa 8.

    what he said.

    Save your money.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

The Frank Pastore cards will not get a 10 but they are nice and should get close to 9's. Most likely they are 8.5's.

If you are looking for 9s, the lower left John Ellis looks like the closest one to a 9. Unfortunately, I would not sub any of the others if you are looking for a min grade of a 9. They all appear to have a tilt to them. image

    Thanks,

  • I would send in the Ellis on the left and Pastore on the left and keep searching for a better Klutts if possible. Good luck on the set!

Good luck with your submission. If you are looking for 10's, I suggest you look to other cards to submit. I think you are going to have trouble getting 9's on those cards. 1 or 2 MAY find their way into a PSA "9" slab, but I would not bet on it.

    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • That's the rub of collecting this set. There are many tough 1981 Topps cards with no 10s (and few 9s) in existence. Nobody submits these cards because very few nice examples exist. If you are trying to complete the set (like Smokie), sometimes you have to submit the best you can find and possibly upgrade down the road.
  • I agree with Shooty....

Thanks guys for your input. Does anyone know how much tilt is allowed, I
put a PSA 10 on here for an example which definately has a tilt.
