I bought this 1919 China YSK $1 a while back, and found the need to conserve the coin before I submitted it to PCGS for grading. I needed the coin for my set.
Here is the coin as I saw it – the seller’s pictures:
I received the coin about 10 days later… It was obvious that this coin had a lot of PVC on the surface. There seemed to be luster left on the coin. Here are the pictures of the coin when I received it in the mail:
After a soak in acetone the coin is a beauty!
My Grade is AU55, However this coin does have a lot of luster in hand - a lot nicer than average 55's. Could get a 58, but I'm thinking a solid 55 at PCGS Secure.
This coin is going out this week to our hosts!
