Ridiculous fees to sign ttm

I recently sent a 1948 Leaf card to George Taliaferro, not a Pro Football Hall of Famer , but a college star. I sent $10 like the other couple successses. I saw. He returned my $10 and the 1948 unsigned and wanted a $50 donation to sign my card. Outrageous.

  • At least he returned the $10!
Maybe he's trying to increase the value of his autographs.

Did he want a donation to a charity? Was it a fee to him?

Taliaferro recently raised his donation fee. He used to be be $10, jumped to $25 and then to $50. All donations are made to his ministry as I don't think he and his wife are hurting for cash.

As an aside, from a historical standpoint, he was the first African-American drafted by the NFL and at 85 years of age, he's no spring chicken...

He was also the first African American ever drafted by an NFL team.

    Not quite a no name.

Don't see it as a problem at all. Going to a great cause for him. Not outrageous at all.
  • Same here, for charitable purposes, I dont see an issue, it's his signature and he's not get any younger.
