What are the pinnacles of achievment for each sport?

What are the pinnacles of achievement for each sport? I'm not talking about an award (MVP, etc.) or a trophy (Cy Young, Heisman, etc.), but an achievement that takes years and consistent skill to achieve. For example; 300 Wins, 500 Home Runs, 3,000 Hits, 3,000 Strikeouts, etc.

Not being specific with numbers but I was thinking about Pro athletes not going broke after retirement in their perspective sports and giving something back in a positive manner.

    But to stay on point:

Most Games Played All Time in NBA History

    1. Robert Parish - 1,611

Player with most games played in NFL History

    1. Morten Andersen - 382

Player with most games played in NHL History

1 Gordie Howe Detroit, Hartford 26 seasons 1767 games

Player with most games played in MLB History

    1. Pete Rose (24 seasons) 3562 games

Longevity is the reward for hard work and durability, not only in sports but in any job.

What expectations can there now be in modern day relative to the 3 most unbreakable records in all of sports, which are highest career, consecutive, and single-season complete games by a pitcher?

For the earlier post about games played by Gordie Howe, I'd be willing to put a mental asterisk on that one and also remember all his WHA games for the consideration of his longevity. It is certainly not relevant for his NHL totals, sure, but those years in WHA still have a place in a discussion somewhere.

(Now that I think about it, I personally I don't consider things like years that Jagr or Fedorov playing in the KHL to be equal to Bobby Hull and Howe playing in the WHA, and I probably can't give a convincing reason why that is...)

    Closer to on topic,

I think 300 wins is a good benchmark not only for baseball pitchers as in the OP, but also for NHL goalies too. Also 700 assists to go along with the earlier mention of 500 goals. 200 goals seems a fair over/under mark for a defenceman.

I would also add 100 caps for national team / international play for football (=soccer, not American football).
