USPS crackout attempt

The USPS must have used a truck to try and crack out my recent ebay purchase.

At least the coin survived.

Damn, ive had the same thing happen to me, but worse. It was ink! It was a $56 ancient and it was packed in the usual bubble mailer and some how the mailer got a ton of ink on it. It was stilled packaged with no rips but I got the same plastic/notice and sadly the ink got on the coin. Luckily some lemon juice removed it instantly but its scary seeing that.

Looks like it went through an automated bin sorter. BTW, it opened it up like a pair of nippers.................slab now looks akin to a fag lighter.

Nice coin - too bad you'll lose that OGH. Cool move by our host on the complementary reholder.

I wonder what monetary damages the USPS would have paid had the coin been ruined?

Unfortunately the USPS will get two more licks at it if you accept the offer!

    +1, very generous indeed.

Well at least it saved you from having to crack it out yourself

I seem to have a hard time cracking coins out of slabs so am glad to see this free service is now available from the USPS! /sarc
