Ebay question - potential bad buyer

I am relatively new to selling on ebay and have a situation I need some assistance/guidance to help me figure out what to do.
I have an auction ending today and noticed that I now have two bids. I check the bidding and notice the person with the high bid has a feedback rating of 1. I check his member page and see he has been a member since the beginning of the month. The only feedback he received was positive but said the guy never paid and never responded to messages. The positive feedback confused me but maybe the seller mistakenly made it positive, or edited a previous feedback. I don't know.
In any case, I don't know what to do. As I see it, my options are:
1. Leave it be. Maybe the guy is a true noob, didn't know what he was doing with the first auction (that was coins, I am selling cards), give him the benefit of the doubt and see what happens. I may have to go through the buyer didn't pay process, but he may pay up as well and I will have worried for nothing.
2. Cancel the bid and block the buyer.
My initial thought (probably from reading some of the horror stories here) is #2. However, I don't want to run the risk of jumping the gun and am now leaning towards #1. I would appreciate any input any of you veteran ebay sellers have. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to all!
