I plan to go Friday with my two boys,9 and 12. What type of items will you be selling? I collect mostly graded vintage, but the boys love basketball and football GU and autos

I think that's the high school where Barry Larkin and Ken Griffey Jr. graduated from. image
  • I will be set up this weekend at the Moeller show selling strictly Reds cards and memorabilia. This is the best show out there if you are a Reds collector.
  • I think Buddy Bell and David Bell both went there.

Can you post a show report? I'm thinking about driving to Cincinnati tonight after I leave the Pacers - Spurs game... if it's worth the drive.

That is the correct address. I graduated from Moeller, but don't get back to Cincinnati much anymore. Hopefully I'll be at the show on Sunday morning though.

  • I am setup by myself so I didn't get to walk around at all but from the feedback I was getting there was a little more vintage than new stuff.A couple dealers also said people were buying at a better pace than last year.If anyone goes and gets Jim Maloneys or Johnny Edwards auto they are both great guys and will talk to you.Jim Maloney could pass for Jerry Lee Lewis brother.

I attended this show on Saturday. It was a nice show with 85-90% vintage with 75-80% of the vintage raw.

It's been a while since I've attended a card show. Some realizations... there are a LOT of cards on the market! image The shows I attended in the 70s pale in comparison to this small local show... did everyone that collected in the 70s/80s sell their cards? The venue plays a signifcant role in the perceived quality of the items in a show. This venue reminded me of the 1970s. The presentation of the items on your table and the items on the tables to the left/right also play a significant role in the perceived quality of items on your table. If you have too much inventory for your table(s); buy more tables of bring/display less inventory.

Overall, this was a great show (not so much if you collect modern, although there was a nice selection of modern unopened material). If you collect raw vintage, I would highly recommend this show.

Edited to add: The show was crowded during the time I was present... there were even a couple of those guys that hug the edge of the table while they side step to view items on the tables; the ones that never move away from the table afraid of losing their place.
