Using "borrowed" scans is bad enough. Stating that the item is the exact one pictured is even worse. But "borrowing" scans from the same seller more than a dozen times is just plain stupid. Past ID history is interesting, too (WWJD?). Not the most intelligent eBayer on the planet, I'm guessing.
  • All of the auctions this seller is running are all Probstein images. Whats even funnier is he has two concurrent auctions for a 73 Clemente, both with same PSA number. Either he bought them off of Probstein, or people are not paying attention.

    73 Clemente 1

    73 Clemente 2

Rick, unless that person actually owns the cards as he bought them from you, I would report him to Ebay. I would think you are the VERO owner of the image and if he is stealing your image then you can get him shut down.
  • ok, I reported him...each item on ebay has a report item feature...if a few people are willing to click and report thaT WOULD BE helpful

    thanks for much

Similarly, i am worried about a recent purchase of mine from Canada that hasn't arrived yet, but it only has been about 10 days and it says its coming from Ontario so not worried about time just yet, but first concern is now the image from the auction I won is now on another auction. To make me more nervous, the seller of the item I won marked my item as shipped but didn't note the tracking number. Something doesn't seem right with that. I actually corresponded with the seller of the auction I didn't win when he originally had it out there to see where he wanted to be price-wise and he responded he mentioned he was just going to put it in an auction house to get a better price than ebay. As it turns out, he relisted it recently with the pics and verbiage from the auction I won:

Here is the original auction that came first that I did not win with its original pics and verbiage: Gretzky Long Hair Sheet Auction 1 He actually added the second pic, after Auction 2 below came out as Auction 2 came out about a week after his.

Here is the one I did win: Gretzky Long Hair Auction 2

Now the original auction 1 seller suddenly re-listed and used the pics and all verbiage from auction number 2: Auction 1 relisted with Auction 2 pics and verbiage

Any one know of any scam i am perhaps getting rooked into and not thinking of? I made sure the one I bought from has a 14-day refund, so worst-case is if I think its fake as I have some real single cards from the set on hand to compare it to when it arrives, I would just be out like $40 in trackable postage with signature confirm and insurance on the return. The only negative on the seller of the auction I won appears that he once reneged on a $4700 card he sold after being paid. Perhaps he is doing the same to me to have the cash up front in order to pay his rent this month, then he will refund me when his paycheck comes in? lol.

If I wanted to report this to eBay, How would I? I know where the "Report this Item" is on the auction, but I just did not know what to choose from there on out.

Did you ask the seller about any of your concerns? Do it through messenger so Ebay can see it should things go bad. I'm sure he would have sent with tracking so ask him for it.

I received the tracking number today via the pink/peach colored slip the post office left in my mailbox while I was at work so I will go to the PO on friday or saturday to pick it up. Entered the tracking number at the Canada Post website and it correctly says parcel is at post office as Im sure it needs a signature as well. Interestingly it was mailed from Sherwood Park which is in Alberta connecting adjacently to Edmonton. That's a plus on provenance of the item as it was issued at red rooster stores in Edmonton, or in this case pulled. Im curious if the return address will be Alberta or Ontario as his ebay account states. As long as its not Vancouver as where the other seller who stole the pics seems to be located. The seller of my auction won's ebay account has been opened a few years and many never update it when they move. Maybe item has been in his closet at his parents house in Alberta and his parents are sending it while he now lives/works in ontario. Who knows. So far looking good. Hopefully return address will be Alberta and I'll compare the sheet closely to other 1981 Red Rooster cards I own and hopefully i'll feel confident it's a match. The Sherlock Holmes aspect of collecting is kinda fun. It makes you analyze and think quite a bit in order to never get cheated.
