Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

My experience was quite different! While I am not at the top end of the market...I did quite a bit of strong dealer to dealer business as well as retail. I also had the same expectations due to Sandy! I was quite surprised. My obseration is this: It is usually a Thursday/Saturday show with Friday being dead. This is the busiest Friday I have ever had in 15 years! Saturday was dead. image Is Baltimore morphing into a 2 day show????

I'll take a flyer as to while wholesale activity was off at the show: Stock market and commodities getting hammered, gold and silver stalled while mining shares were getting dynamited. Last week was not a good week for risk assets. Coin dealers are probably more sensitive to this area than the general collecting community.

Wholesale for me was off the hook (i.e. it was fantastic), so I would not assume that it was either good, bad or indifferent for the dealer community in toto.

Same here, we did very well both wholesale and retail.

The show had fantastic wholesale and retail. Generic gold sold like mad with quality not really mattering. Spotty, overgraded, whatever sold very strong at market levels. Even with the price of gold falling during the show, levels did not fall at all. We sold a lot of collector's coins as well. I did not see any differentiation in saleability of CAC coins versus not. High grade coins sold as well as middle of the road circ keys. The market seems strong at all levels.

I agree with Laura, this was the best show for me in three years. All three days, both wholesale and retail rocked. The biggest problem selling lots of coins at this show is you don't get out to buy very many. NEWPS are sorely lacking right now...
