Shipping to PSA w/insurance - is UPS cheaper?

I'm working on shipping about $1k of packs to PSA for grading.

USPS charges so much for insurance. Am I better off sending through UPS? What kind of insurance is included with them (or what are the rates)?

I think you are right. Bummer - I forgot PSA is a PO box address (still pretty new to the subbing game).

Thanks to all for the replies. I got my package all boxed up - what a PITA the whole process is! On the form it did say send either by USPS or FedEx. I'll just have to pay Uncle Sam for the high insurance rate.

Good luck with the mini grades Daniel!

  • Something else to keep in mind is that UPS and FedEx won't insure collectibles such as trading cards. That is why you should use USPS.

Edit: To be clear, UPS and FedEx will sell you insurance when accepting the package but won't pay out on any insurance claims for packages that contain trading cards.
