WHAT A GREAT FEELING!

To make it card related, I just got back my '83 Fleer Boggs that I sent TTM. He signed it. I will post on my thread later when I get things in order.

NOW THE GOOD NEWS: After eleven days without heat, electric, telephone, Internet, etc ... I have them all back! What a great feeling to look at the thermostat and see the temp at 68 as opposed to 43! I can make phone calls! And best of all I can now spend endless hours each day typing away on this board again! LOL

On a serious note, I would like to thank all the board members who have sent me PMs wishing me all the best during the past two weeks. I was actually one of the lucky ones, as we had no damage to our home and nobody got hurt. Let's continue to keep all of those who lost everything in our prayers and thoughts.
STAY HEALTHY!

  • I am very happy for you. I was without power for 3 weeks in south FL after a hurricane once. When those lights all of a sudden flick on and you realize what just happened it is like a gift from God. This time around I kept my power but ended up with a hole in my garage.

What the hell did you think I was doing at night when I was in my house with no power? What else WAS there to do? LOL

PS How is your baby doing?

Welcome back, Doug. I kind of know what it is like. We had an ice storm in 2009 and we had people out of power for 28 days. I work for the power company and I worked 28 days in a row and they were 16 hr days. I was only out of power for 8 days, but it was something I will never forget. I have thought about you guys in the northeast often.

Doug: I hope you didn't forget that pre-1992 junk wax makes great kindling and provides a nice level of warmth when ignited. Just make sure to remove any Eckersley, Gossage and Fingers cards as they tend to put out fires...

Scott ... funny you said that ... I ripped all my JUNK wax to use for kindling ... after all the cases were opened I realized I did not have a fireplace!
