Way OT: Anyone know where to get a copy of Photoshop?

Hello all,

I had Photoshop 7 (2001?) on an old PC running windows XP. A while back the program wouldn't open and I have been unable to use it and I have not been able to locate the disk.

I am looking for a Photoshop version that will work on windows 7. It doesn't have to be one of the more recent versions.

I can't pay $100's. Anyone know where to get a cheaper copy? And what version is good that would be reasonably priced.

If you are looking for a cheap (and by cheap I mean free) alternative to Photoshop you can try Gimp - Link. It's a very mature open source Photoshop alternative. There is even a version of Gimp that has been customized to look and feel very similar to Photoshop. It's called GimpShop and can be found at www.gimpshop.com. It's worth a try before shelling out the bucks for Photoshop.

What you want is Photoshop Elements. It does 95% of what Photoshop does but at 1/5 the cost. Elements 11 was just released which should make copies of Elements 10 pretty cheap. I got Elements 10 from Costco for $49.99 a year ago. They also had a bundle with Premier Elements for $75.
