Bust quarter help, is this an R5?

I saw this on ebay and am having a hard time identifying the variety. Is this an R5 quarter? I think it looks like a B-10.

Would you be willing to pay this price even though the coin has issues because of its rarity if it is an R5? Also, what caused the "blown out reverse die?"

Thanks

I agree that its a B10, but in such a low grade I rather have a problem free coin in a more common variety for the money.

  • Without looking it up, it does have the die lump on the reverse at 25. I think it's a B-10. It probably is worth what the man is asking at $375.

  • I wouldn't call the coin "blown out reverse die". The bulge is due to shrinking of the die. Which is why it appears on the reverse to have more wear on the right side than the left.

... probably true, especially as a type coin, unless one is collecting draped bust quarters by die variety on a budget and has to take what he can get when he can get it

My B-10, made some compromises to keep it affordable and check it off the list, my winning bid was about half of the price in the OP link, you can see why..
