weight conversion question

I always thought 1 gram was equal to .031 troy oz's.

this site says it's .032. Not a big difference at this weight, but taking it out to 100g it would make the difference of about 1 troy oz, 31.2 ty oz's vs. 32.15 troy oz's.

I am considering a 500g bar and the seller and I can't seem to get on the same page. So which is it? I guess what i'm asking is the site I linked correct, and if not, does anyone have one they can provide that converts it correctly? Thanks

    31.10 grams per troy ounce.

    1 gram / 31.1 = 0.032 troy oz

Guess I learned something today, imagine that. image Thanks for the help.

I use a little conversion program that sits on my desktop that easy converts many different types of units back and forth.
It's called "convert", it's a tiny program and it's free but it can be wicked handy for many types of quick conversions.
    Find it here ===> http://joshmadison.com/convert-for-windows/

    It tells me that:

    1 troy oz = 31.10348 grams

    and when units are inverted

    1 gram = 0.03215075

    Now I'm thoroughly confused image

How can the same meausre of units be different depending on what you're wanting to weigh them in? Damn I wish I would paid more attention when they were teaching this in school.
Back then we would say to our teacher, "the heck with that Commy metric stuff, we're in America Mr. Dooglefartin. We aren't ever going to have a need for that."
Little did I know lol. Now it's little do I know more often than not.

It's only confusing because the two factors happen to be similar numbers beginning with "3" Just tell yourself that it is a coincidence, ignore it, and learn the two numbers.

    A kilogram is 1,000 grams.

A troy ounce is 31.10346 grams.

    31.10346 divides into 1,000 approximately 32.15075 times.

Thus there are approximately 32.15075 troy ounces in a kilogram.

    1 foot = 12 inches

    1 inch = 1/12 foot

    1 troy = 31.10348 grams

    1 gram = 1/31.10348 troy
