I have had HA pull a switcheroo on me, twice, with a portion of a consignment where the lots were to have reserves and I was notified they were being placed into no-reserve auctions. So the only way to protect yourself is to buy it back and that means you are paying the full juice.

Realone: << I know of an 1827 10c JR-4 pcgs au58 (double struck within the written description) that says that in HA.com's archives. It means that it was repurchased by the consignor because it had no reserve and the consignor didn't want to risk selling it without a reserve and he therefore paid the buyers fee in order to get it back. BTW Is this the coin that you are speaking about? >>

Thanks for the info Realone. It's not that coin but I'd love to take a look at it. The PCGS MS-63 looks pretty nice.

Wow, that doesn't sound like a good situation DeliaBug. If HA changes the auction type, it doesn't sound right that consignors need to pay to protect their previously-protected lots.
