It is nearly impossible to grade coins closer than 2-3 points on a computer screen, and even less so when there is no magnification. You can never tell if there are some slight wear spots or just lack of luster there and you can't see small bagmarks or dings. I think that I see wear on the first one at the bottom of the vertical line of jewels in the crown, on his mustache below his nose, and some on the shoulder. I think that they would grade 58 & 63.

62 on the first and possibly 63 on the second- Not completely confident the first one graded

Both are graded by PCGS as MS64.

Big question for me would be:
WHY have them graded in the US since we all know that a possible Canadian buyer would want to step them down a point or two?
    just curious..

Starting next year, I'm planning on selling some of my Canadian coins to collectors in the US.

ICCS is useless to the US collector.

PCGS is the only way to go.

Eagle, maybe I should also consider that route. It will or would be an expensive undertaking to have a few hundred high grade coins all redone by another TPG.
from what I understand, NGC is a lot less expensive.

    It is very expensive.

Here in Canada, ICCS costs very little, about $12 per coin.

However PCGS, when you account for shipping and insurance is over $50 a coin.

My advice to you is to try a sample lot of 4 to 8 coins and see how you like where the grading is going.

    Quick answer....

No problem or duties when going from Canda to the US.

On the way back, you're taxed (HST) for the grading fees only.

ie., if your coins are insured for $10,000 and PCGS grading fees are $500, you'll be paying 13% on the $500 only.
