I have been searching for this coin for over a year and like most Washington Quarters with Varieties there still out there to be found. I think all new collectors need to understand that a lot of these coins can be found and at a good price. 17 bucks for my latest cherrypick. Another thing I have learned for me at least is to get into one series, I do not cherrypick other series and concentrate on the Quarters to search for. That I think has allowed me to learn more and has made the searches much more fun. Between the proofs and the regular Washington Quarters there is a lot to be learned. Ok back to this Coin, I missed getting a MS 62 a couple months ago for 500 (didn't have the money) and while I was contemplating it another member hit the buy it now, I was bummed. This past Tuesday I woke up at 430 am and decided to go thru my ebay searches and the 3rd coin I looked at was this one. At First I could not believe that I was seeing what I had been searching for, Only 3 others have been graded. I did the buy it now and waited for the coin to show up at the house. Today I get a regular envelope and to my amazement the coin was inside as I tore the envelope open the coin slipped out hit the floor, my heart sank. After picking it up and examining it I realized it was in fact one of my holy grails. Hopefully this coin will grade a MS. I cannot figure out what is going on around the date 1957 and it may need a bath. Thanks to all those who got me into this Great Series..... Oh Yes Its the 1957 D with misplaced D, up to the left of the original D between the leaves. Enjoy

About time you found one, Tom! Congrats! I missed out on the MS62, same reason, no extra cash, due to needing to pay for my health insurance, and I didn't even see this one! At least your search has ended...mine continues!

Thanks everyone. Fadetoblack Look closely where the d mintmark is and than go left alittle and up between the stems you will see what appears to be a partial D. And yes finding one of the ETF version would really be the Holy Grail for me and there is always the 52 large D that excites me and so many more............Enjoy

Just wanted to say knowledge is Power another member pmed me that because of this thread he has found one at his local B/m. I figure if he wants to announce it he can, but I just thought that is sooooo cool. And wonder what the odds on that is?
