RIP Pascual Perez

Stabbed to death in his home the day after he picked up his MLB Pension check. Anyone who knows anything about any country south of the border. The walls have eyes and ears and everyone knows when you are getting $$$ and will do anything to steal it from you. If you establish a pattern, you WILL get robbed. He should have had armed guards 24/7 while living in the DR. Wouldn't have cost much there.

  • That is a real shame. I last met him around 7 years ago when he was signing some stuff for me. He looked ill and very skinny, not much left of him. These people didn't have to do that to him. There couldn't have been that much left of him so he probably didn't put up much of a fight. Animals image

RIP Pascual I-285 Perez. He was quite the character during his Braves years. I tried to find
footage of the Braves Padres Brawl in I think 1984 but couldn't. One of the ugliest scenes in MLB history.
Pascual was right in the middle of it all.

    RIP. Mr. Perez
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Remember watching that. Ugly is too tame a word to describe it. I recall Perez making a beeline to the Braves dugout after he nailed either Nettles or Champ Summers. It was a case of Dick Williams and Joe Torre playing chicken with their players.

He was such a personality. The drug charges, getting lost on the way to the park, his jerry curl hair, the way he looked in on the catcher (Hat almost covering his eyes). The way he trotted off the filed. I was not a Braves fan but I enjoyed watching him. RIP

You recall incorrectly. Perez hit Alan Wiggins to start off the game. The Padres then spent the whole rest of the day trying to hit him in retailiation, having three pitchers, Dick Williams and whatever coach took over for Williams all ejected. Donnie Moore hit Nettles late in the game. Summers was never hit but he did try to break away from the pack and attack Pascual in the dugout. Bob Horner stopped him.

I found a link to the brawl. Crazy stuff, the fans even get involved at one point. It's like an old style hockey brawl on the baseball field. You will probably never see one like this again.
